Stupid Dork Me Got a Sunburn

Scotch Broom was blooming all over the place. It's pretty, but a lot of people are allergic to it.
The seagulls were all facing the sunset.
The wind was making zen-like patterns in the sand.
This sunset picture was blurry, but I still like it.
Sunset.
Heading back to the campsite after sunset.
Hubby jumping into the picture like a big dork.
My sunburned shins. They don't look as bad today, but they still hurt.

Owie. I was not paying attention this weekend and got a nasty sunburn. We had beautiful blue sky the entire time, and we were totally taking advantage of it sitting in reclining chairs out in the sun. If we tried to move into the shade we got really cold. I was in capris and I burned the front of my legs and my nose really bad. Jody gave me some sunscreen, but by that point it was too late. And for some reason sunscreen does not prevent the first burn of the season. It never fails. All of us ended up with something burned except Katie and Tim. We all had a great time, as always!

Funny Kittehs

This one is so wrong. Aly and I do this every day. I pick her up...she starts whining, and I start whining right back at her. We keep this up for a couple minutes, which annoys her....but greatly amuses me!

Why are Men like that????

Argh.....Seriously. Why can't a guy ever say "Yep. I fucked up. Sorry. My bad."
Last night we were getting ready to BBQ and hubby opened the back door and Kodiak took off out the door. This is the second time in like a month that he has broken out of jail. The first time being his leap of faith through the window screen. Well not so much through, but knocked out and over it. I tell hubby all the time....ALL....THE.....TIME....to not leave the door so freak'n wide open when he goes out. Not only does he leave it wide open, but he does not bother to look around to make sure that Kodi is not lurking nearby waiting for the opportunity to bolt. Well last night Kodi bolted. Right out the back door and under the deck. He tried to run around to the front of the house, but hubby executed a successful block. Instead, the cat hid under the deck. And if you have not seen my deck....its huge. And multi leveled. He would run under one level, to another, to another, and back. It was awful. I never knew where to go. I was running around, up steps, down steps, crawling under the highest level....which was not fun! One word....Spiders. And then Kodi ended up under the lowest level deck. And there is no possible way a human can crawl under there. So there he sat, munching on some kind of vegetation, while I crawled around in the wet dirt and rocks on my hands and knees....in shorts...panicking. I think he was enjoying my pain and suffering. I finally ran back into the house and opened a can of food and took that outside on a paper plate to try and coax him out. But to do so, I had to pull the lattice work off the side of that part of the deck. Which I did....and did not care in the least if that pissed off the hubby. I wanted my cat. After I dismantled the deck I knelt down in the wet dirt again and put the plate of food under the deck. Kodi, being the pig that he is, went right for the food. I kept pulling it back towards me, and he kept coming for the food. When he was within reach I grabbed him. He was put in timeout in his room for an hour or so. Unfortunately Alyeska went in there with him. She totally panicked when he went outside. She was running from window to window. She knew he had made a break for freedom, and she didn't like it any more than I did. So she went in there with him with no complaints. I just do not understand why hubby could not have at least said "Sorry." Nothing. Not a thing from him. And I just wanted to drop it because I knew I would bitch him out. A little while later something was said to Kodi about running out, and I said something to hubby about him leaving the door wide open....and he blamed the cat! It was not his fault that the cat runs out the door. Ummmmm YAH IT IS! Don't leave the freaking door wide open!
So to make sure this does not happen again, I'm going to put the cats in their room when hubby is BBQing. I just can't trust that guy to watch for the cats before opening doors.....

Carrot Cake

Have you ever bought a Costco carrot cake? Holy crap...that thing weighs 20 pounds! Seriously! I had to pick one up for work tomorrow and that thing is freaking heavy. I decided that I didn't need a cart even though the bakery is in the back of the store. Mistake number one. Mistake number two was parking far away from the door so that I could .... be in the shade .... and get in a little exercise by walking through the lot. Ugh.... it's hot out, and I was carrying that dang bushel of carrots. By the time I got to the car I was all hot and sweaty....and not in a good way. My arms are still kinda sore and I have been home for about 20 minutes! Gawd I'm such a wimp.....
Hubby and I went to see Night at the Museum:Smithsonian. The title is longer, but who cares. It was OK. Not as good as the first one. But still a fun movie. Unfortunately....hubby is as big a popcorn hog as my mom. Actually, hubby is worse. He eats it really fast and then gives me the little left over pieces in the bottom. Mom has at least started bringing a large ziplock baggie so that I can put some in that to eat. OK...just kidding. Well not about them being popcorn hogs, because they are, but I can at least grab a couple handfuls when I want some. I don't eat as much popcorn at the movies as they do. They can each eat a bucket, I don't even finish a small one when I go by myself. And......SCORE....my next movie is free! I love my Regal Rewards Card. Since today was Tuesday, it was $1.00 small popcorn day. It used to be that you would get a free small popcorn, but now they charge you a buck. Still worth it. And you can always earn the free popcorn, free soda and free movie with the rewards. Totally worth it! I don't understand why anyone would not sign up for one. If you go to the movies at all at a Regal....sign up!

JOURNEY was AWESOME.....and a little Deen....

Old Town Sacramento. We spent the late morning/early afternoon walking around. There was a huge Jazz Festival going on.
JOURNEY! We were only in Row 15...but there were VIP tables set up in front of the stage because of a charity Auction, so we ended up kinda far back.

NEAL
Ross and Deen heh heh heh....Deen on our plane. I tried to sneak a shot before take-off. That was so wrong of me.....

We had a great time at the Journey concert last night in Sacramento. Except for the fact that I froze my ass off. Robert tipped me off that the temp was suppose to drop after the sun set. I took a hoodie, but wore capris and flip flops. Big mistake. Me feet were frozen by the time we left. I was sooooo cold. But it was totally worth it! Even got to chat with Alycia and her hubby who we met at the Lake Tahoe Meet & Greet. She might go to the show in Boise. I hope she will be able too! Not sure if we will be able to add in any more concerts this year since we are going to Hawaii now. They have tickets to 2 others shows....I think both in Cali.
The show was great. They rocked it out with hardly a break, and sang god knows how many songs. A lot that's for sure! Bummed that Deen did not sing one, but maybe next time. I like him to sing at least one. For the last song, Lovin Touchin Squeezin, they brought out some of their kids. This was a show for a children's charity in Sacramento, so it was only fitting that they included some of their own kids. Jonathan's son played drums, his daughter came out for some vocals...but the best part was Neal's son Miles came out and played guitar. That kid is fantastic. We enjoyed the Lake Tahoe show with Miles standing right next to us. nice kid. And good looking. And he plays a mean guitar.....just like his dad! You can tell that apple did not fall far from the tree! He has a ton of talent.

SO...here is a great little story....

We were sitting in one of the airport bars. Had been there a couple minutes. Long enough for a couple people to say something to Robert about his Journey t-shirt that he was wearing. Asking if we had gone to the show. People saying they wished they had. We were sitting there, and all of sudden Robert says..."That's Deen sitting behind you." I turned around and there was Deen. Robert had been on his laptop and he put the screen down and not a minute later I hear Deen say "Hey! Did you enjoy the show?" SWEEEET! So Robert went over and had a little chit chat with him. Very cool. And then......Deen is on our flight back to Portland! Sweet! During the flight when we were getting drinks, the 2 flight attendants are talking about guys that have been on flights before that look like rock stars....like Tommy Lee and stuff. I knew that they thought Deen was someone, or looked like someone. Then one of them sees Robert's Journey shirt and she said "I have had Don't Stop Believin" in my head all day." I told her "Did you know that the drummer for Journey is sitting up there?" She kinda freaked a little. She wanted to know who it was. I said the guy with the wild hair. She said she knew he had to be someone. It was funny. She went over to him and said something and laughed. Later in the flight Deen handed her something and she smiled at him. Then she came over to Robert and handed him a piece of paper. It was Deen's boarding pass. He had signed it and sent it back to him! Very very cool! When we got off the plane the pilot was talking to Deen and he saw Robert again and Robert thanked him and they shook hands. Deen gave me a big smile and waved. He was going to get his picture taken with the pilot. So funny. It really made Robert's day!

JOURNEY BABY!!!!

Won't be around today. Off to see JOURNEY in Sacramento. Can't wait! Have not seen them since Lake Tahoe last year. We missed them when they were in town because we were out of town! We have tickets to see them in Boise too. And as they add dates, I'm sure we will try to see them again. But that will all depend now on where they are. No more flying off to see them. With the spur of the moment trip to Hawaii we are taking now, we won't be able to see JOURNEY a ton this year. But that's OK.....I'll take Hawaii instead!
Will blog Sunday about the show!

My Name is Earl is now Without a Trace

It was announced today what shows are being canceled. They are canceling My Name is Earl and Without a Trace. Those 2 really surprise me. Doesn't Earl get nominated for awards? I admit that I do not watch this show very often, but I also don't watch 30 Rock. I catch these shows only once in a while. Without a Trace I watch more, and its a really good show. Other shows that are being canceled are Samantha Who, Cupid, Boston Legal and ER. We already knew that Boston Legal and ER were ending. Cupid just started though. I hate when they don't give a show a chance to get some regular fans. I watched Cupid a few times. It wasn't bad. Good enough to at least give it another year. It has only been on a few times. There were quite a bit more. I was shocked....shocked...that NBC canceled Medium. Are you kidding me??? Why cancel a show that your leading lady won an award for??? So glad that CBS picked it up. Just one more reason to watch CBS I guess. Most of the time I feel that the hour long shows have gotten pretty boring. I was spoiled with cable shows like Sex and the City, Sopranos and Dexter. I want a little juice to the story. Greys has been pretty good, except I could not get into this season.....until the Finale, which made me cry. The ER Finale was a joke. What a complete letdown. I thought the show deserved a better ending then what we got. Oh well. And I need to get caught up on Brothers & Sisters.
In other news....we are going to Hawaii in September! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait! I don't care if I do anything the entire week except lay around on the beach!

Randomness

Western Wood-Pewee. Found pic online.
Cedar Waxwing from a pic online.

Just got back from seeing Angels and Demons with Tom Hanks. Really good movie. Except for one cheesy part involving a helicopter. Other than that, I really enjoyed the movie. Having been raised a Catholic and no longer believing in organized religion, I found the movie fascinating how they brought together science and religion. At the end there is a line about how man is not without flaws, including men of the cloth. To me, religion is ancient history, like Medieval princes and castles. Like ancient Egypt. It is something to be studied and written about in historical terms, but most religions have not evolved. I do understand that some need that in their lives, to give them a sense of purpose, or to explain to them what life is all about, or to just give them some peace and security. I find that with my family and loved ones.

HARRISON FORD WATCH!

Here is a link to the story in our paper this morning. There is even a picture of Harrison from yesterday! I was right...there were a lot of people down there in the park across the street with their cameras and binoculars. Geeze....

http://www.columbian.com/article/20090521/NEWS02/705219985/Lights++camera++action

New bird in my yard! Yesterday morning I saw a bird in the yard I had never seen before. So I took a good look with binoculars and got out my book. It was a Western Wood-Pewee. Very pretty grey bird that was swooping around eating bugs. It can stay as long as it wants if it is going to eat bugs all day! And then later that evening I was on the phone with my sister and a Cedar Waxwing flew in! Love those birds! Sadly I have not seen the new bird today. Bummer. Hope it comes back.

I have had to fake out my kitty Aly. Every time I get myself a glass of ice water she comes over and drinks out of it. So now I pour 2 glasses! She gets her own and I don't have her butt lick in mine!

Harrison Ford Watch Is In Affect!!!!

Harrison is in town! They start filming his scenes today downtown. So right now he is within a mile of my office. Maybe 2 miles....but dang.....close enough for me!
I would love to go down there and just hang around outside to try and get a peek of him, but I would never do that. Besides, most likely there are a ton of people hanging around the park across the street doing the same thing. I'm still day dreaming that he will have some lag time between shots and will come down to the Row and walk around and want to tour the house! COME ON OVER HARRISON! LOL!
Alas....it will never happen. So sad.
Our paper is being kinda jerkie about not putting all of their stories online anymore. It's their way of making people buy the paper instead of reading everything online. Don't blame them, but still erks me. So I can't link you to the story that was in the paper today, but there is some kind of video. So here is a link to a little video to watch. I didn't play it here because I can't hear it, so I'm just going to link you to it.
Let me know if it was any good!

So far so good

My computer is up and running. I have not had any problems **knock on wood**. It's a lot faster now. But I'm sure that after playing games for a couple weeks it will slow down again. We'll see. I'm not asking for much here....internet access to 4 websites I visit daily, and the occasional visit to something else, and to be able to play a couple games on Facebook. I don't think that is so bad. People who go on porn sites probably have gotten less viruses then I have! It's frustrates me to no end that people have nothing better to do with their pathetic little lives than to sit around and create viruses to fuck people up. What is wrong with you guys? D & D not any fun anymore??? Go play some high tech online video game where people actually pay for you to fuck them up online. Leave my shit alone. Ugh....can you tell I'm still pissed? Sorry. **deeeeeeep breath** annnnnnnd **exhale** repeat one hundred times as necessary.....

F'n Viruses Piss me off....

I'm so pissed. I got another virus on my home computer. I don't understand why I can't play a couple games on the internet without getting a virus. I had virus blockers, but whatever this was it disabled both of my blockers, my search engine, updates and downloads. Anytime we tried to download a virus blocker/remover it kicked us off the internet and rebooted the computer. I'm so pissed. Can you tell? There was one window that would pop up and give you 50 seconds before it restarted the computer. That would come on maybe 5 or 6 times in a row then my computer guy would get rid of it only for it to come back an hour or so later. He worked on the computer all day. I told him at one point that I just wanted top toss the f***ker out the window and get a new one.
I'm at a loss as to what to do now. Do I suck it up and get a new Mac computer like my son keeps telling me to do? Do I just sit back and see how well this new fix works? Or do I give up on my games and stuff? I don't think it is fair that i have to give up something that I enjoy because of fear of viruses. But this last one was a doozie.
Argh....I don't know what to do.....

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Argh.....

I have a virus on my computer. I'm doing this with one finger on my itouch.what a pain. All I want to do is play a couple games online and I keep getting viruses. You assholes need to get a life....or get laid already.

Alone again.....Naturally

I'm at work today....all alone. There were a couple agents in this morning briefly, but they have all gone. There is one agent over at the other building right now, but I'm not sure how much longer he is going to stay. The agent who was suppose to be on floor this afternoon called and said he couldn't make it. It's to nice outside to be sitting in here. The phone has hardly rang at all. But we have had some floor calls from people asking about certain listings, so that is why we stay open on the weekends. It's all good though. I don't mind working the occasional Saturday or Sunday. Katie stopped by. She was at the Zoo this morning for an orientation for a volunteer position. She is going to volunteer one day a week either 4 hours in the morning or 4 hours in the afternoon...calll!!!!! wow a call....anyway, she is going to be talking to people about Zoo-Doo compost, which is exactly what it sounds like it is...poop. They sell the elephant poop for fertilizer and stuff. The other thing she gets to do is work with the Lorakeets! Fun! She will get to stand in the bird house and help people feed the birds. That sounds like fun!
When Katie went to leave I told her I was going to run upstairs and fill the kitchen supplies and then I wouldn't have anything else to do today but answer phones. I told her that I was probably going to be alone for the rest of the day....well except Mary the ghost. So we laughed, and then I freaked myself out. She left and I literally ran up the stairs, saw that the kitchen supplies were already full (thank you Karen) and then I ran back downstairs! Like anything is going to happen in the middle of the day. But I still freaked myself out. Don't know why. I think it was just going upstairs when there is no one else in the building. Silly me....

....to boldly go....

I dropped my phone the other day getting out of the truck, so I took this picture just to make sure it still worked. It does!

This little bunny was hopping all around the back yard on Tuesday at dusk. What a little cutie!

One of my weak moment shoe purchases today.
And the ring I just couldn't live without! Come on....give me a break...it was only $14.00!

Went to see Star Trek with mom today. It was good. I was a huge fan of the show growing up. I can remember actually going up to the TV and kissing James T Kirk. Yep....I admit it....I kissed the TV. But come on....he was hot! LOL!

Stopped by Kohls again. I need to stay away from there. I bought two more pairs of shoes that were on clearance. A pair of black boot type shoes that look really good with jeans, and then another pair of the same shoe I bought last time, but in black. Mom likes the costume jewelry, so we found the ring display, and...oh darn...they were on sale. She bought two and I bought one.
Weak I tell you.....WEAK!!
I wanted to also say Happy Birthday to Bon!!! Hope you have been enjoying YOUR day!

stOp trYIng tO tUrn mE IntO A twIt.....

Glynis and Katie are trying to get me to join Twitter. Sorry guys....but I am just going to have to put my foot down on this one. I can't join one more thing. I have this blog, Facebook, Myspace (which I hardly ever hear from anyone on anymore) and my games that I play daily. One of them, Egg Breakers, if you don't play daily you lose things. So I'm there, everyday, playing not only from my page, but also Kodi and Aly's so that I can send myself extra gifts from their pages! And then there is Hatchlings, Green Patch, the fishy one that I can't remember the name (Blue something), I just started paying attention to my Fairyland, Willie's Sweetshop, 101 Eggs and More.....there is just too much!!!! So sorry G...I know you want me to go to Twitter but I just don't want to add anything else. I will just go there and get all obsessed and follow everyone all the time reading their Twits or Tweats or whatever the hell its called.
I am off for a massage, lunch with my Jenny, and then my hair appt! My grey stripe is extra big this time. And I am going sooner than I used to go too! My mom told me 2 weeks ago that she thinks if I didn't color my hair I would have more grey than she does! Thanks Mom.....

(i dont have time to proof this so excuse any goofs)

Looks like I'm not Nuts after All!

I found this article on Yahoo News today. And you guys thought I was crazy! Well HA!
---------------------------------------

Got a tough problem to solve? Try daydreaming.
Contrary to the notion that daydreaming is a sign of laziness, letting the mind wander can actually let the parts of the brain associated with problem-solving become active, a new study finds.
Kalina Christoff of the University of British Columbia in Canada and her colleagues placed study participants inside an fMRI scanner, where they performed the simple routine task of pushing a button when numbers appear on a screen. The researchers tracked subjects' attentiveness moment-to-moment through brain scans, subjective reports from subjects and by tracking their performance on the task.
Until now, scientists had thought that the brain's "default network," which is linked to easy, routine mental activity, was the only part of the brain that remains active when the mind wanders. But in the study subjects, the brain's "executive network" - associated with high-level, complex problem-solving - also lit up.
The less subjects were aware that their mind was wandering, the more both networks were activated.
"This study shows our brains are very active when we daydream - much more active than when we focus on routine tasks," Christoff said.
The findings, detailed in the May 11 issue of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, suggest that daydreaming is an important cognitive state where we may unconsciously turn our attention from immediate tasks to sort through important problems in our lives.
"When you daydream, you may not be achieving your immediate goal - say reading a book or paying attention in class - but your mind may be taking that time to address more important questions in your life, such as advancing your career or personal relationships," Christoff said.
That's particularly good news, because daydreaming can occupy as much as one third of our waking lives, previous studies have found.

Rising Above the Ashes

Karen came in to the office for a few minutes this morning. She is being so strong. I don't think I could be. I would not be able to talk about losing my house without breaking into tears. I've always been weak in holding back them back. They have not been able to go into the house yet to look for their other kitten. She is sure that it has died along with the other one that was found yesterday. Her daughter is very upset about the cats. She hand raised them when they were born. The whole thing is just so sad. I think they were about 6 months old. They still have one of the kittens, her daughter's other cat and their dog. Now they have to wait for the insurance investigator to come from Utah and look over the house. They have to send one from out of state because all of the Washington and Oregon investigators are in Santa Barbara because of the fires there. Not sure when they will arrive. It sounds like her insurance is going to cover the house, contents and rental until they can move back home. Who knows how long the repairs will take. Her husband has some huge blisters on his hand from being burned trying to put it out. It hurts, but he will OK. He also burned his hair, but I think Karen tried to give him a hair cut to fix that. Today they have to go shopping. They lost all of their clothes, shoes, jackets...all of that kind of stuff. They may be able to get dishes and stuff....who knows....so sad....

Monday, May 11, 2009

oh no......not good....**updated at 12:30**

My friend at work, Karen, her house caught on fire this morning. Her husband called her and said that everyone was out of the house, but they could not find 2 of her kitties. The fire department had the fire out, and they were looking for the kitties, but they could not find them. I tried to reassure her that they were just hiding and that they will be fine. They are not allowed to go back in the house for 12 hours. That's going to make it even harder for them to look for the cats. They are both black, so I'm hoping that they are just hiding and the firemen could not see them. Poor things. They are probably terrified. Karen was told that a light fell on some boxes and they caught fire. I have no idea what the damage is. I just hope its only the boxes and that everything else is just smoke and water damage. Her husband, daughter, grandkids, 2 cats and a dog were all in the house and got out OK. It's the other 2 kitties that she is worried about.
Everyone think positive for her......

**they have found one of her kitties. unfortunately the kitty has died. they are still looking for the other one. most likely that one has died also. she said that it appears her house contents are a complete loss. they had to take her husband to the hospital because he burned his hand trying to put it out. i feel so sorry for her**

♥♥♥♥♥HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY♥♥♥♥♥

HaHa! I used hearts again in my title. Wish I could color them. Oh well.

Happy Mother's Day! And as Dreama said in the last blog comments....that goes to Moms everywhere....including Mommies with fur-babies!

I am very lucky to still have my Mom with me to be able to celebrate this day with. We usually get her a hanging basket. So does my sister. Terri started this first with ordering the most beautiful hanging baskets from Sweet Adeline's. We have been ordering their baskets and patio pots every year for about 6 years now. Not real sure. Anyway, last year we ordered mom 2, so this year Terri wanted to order them. I had planned on getting mom a plant or something to take over there today, but hubby changed those plans.

He just gave me tickets to see American Idol! I can't wait to see Adam and Allison live! Sweet! But here is the deal....he bought the tickets twice. He grabbed some really good seats up a little bit on the side right next to the stage. Then he tried again just to see what would come up.....FLOOR SEATS!!!!! 18 Rows back! So he grabbed those! My mom and Terri love Idol too, so I am going to give them the other seats.

FUNFUNFUNFUNFUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

♥♥Beth Day♥♥

This is Beth's card. I think she is going to still add some ribbon down the left side. I suggested yellow to make the centers of the daisey's pop!

I spent the day today with my friend Beth making cards. I love this day. The only thing is we work so hard that the day goes way too fast. She made the most amazingly detailed card. It took her the entire afternoon. I, of course, just slapped some paper together and added some kind of embellishment and called it good! She completely made her card. She used a stamp to make the background paper, she quilled all of the flowers and crimped all the the leaves. Oiy....it was a lot of work, but it's beautiful. And she made the little pot for the flowers. I can't wait to try to make one myself!

I'm pooped, so this is all ya get today....

Shut up Mind.....Harrison Watch

This is Bryan and Katie. Bryan is the one doing all the NON-touching!
This one just cracks me up!
______________________________________________

Is it just me or does everyone hold conversations with themselves in their head? My mind will not shut up. Especially when I drive. OK...now I just sound weird. When I drive I have a running commentary going on. Constantly. I can write an entire movie script in my head when I drive to Seattle. I can have conversations with people who I have never met. Lets just say...Oprah. I start thinking about what I would say to Oprah if I ever ran into her somewhere, like a party. Like that would ever happen! But I will have an entire conversation with her....in my head. How weird is that???? I know....I'm scaring you aren't I??? When I was coming back to work from my lunch break, I was driving along down the freeway and someone quickly took an exit when it was almost too late. You know when someone drives through the median area and they kick up all the dirt and crap that is in there because no one ever drives through there. Well that same thing happened this morning, at the same exit, except that this morning the person decided to NOT take the exit. So they drove through all of that same dirt and crap. So in my mind I'm thinking..."That happened this morning, but they were coming on, and that guy was getting off. Did I just say that guy was getting off???? " Well that made me start laughing. So here I am driving down the freeway cracking up at myself.

Now I'm wondering....Am I just crazy????
Harrison Watch......Have not seen him yet. Someone needs to call his Manager and tell them that Harrison is more than welcome to come down to the office and I'll personally give him a tour of the house! Maybe after the tour we can go out for a bite to eat! (i have not held this conversation in my head....yet!)

Nothing to Say....But I will keep a look out for Harrison Ford!

I have come here so many times today just to leave. I have not had anything worth saying. I have a lot of stuff going on in my head, but nothing I want to write about. Does that make sense? It does to me. I have things that I want to talk about, but some of it I have talked about before so I don't want to repeat. Some of it is about other people, so I don't want to talk about them. Just doesn't feel right. So I will be back tomorrow. I will be in search of something funny or interesting to talk about. But don't count on it being funny OR interesting! LOL!
Looking forward to Survivor coming on. Man.....can we get rid of Coach already???!!!
Idol...Sad to see Allison go. I really liked her. But someone had to go and I liked all of the Top 4. She will be fine. I may actually buy her CD.
When is So You Think You Can Dance going to start? Can't wait!
Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraiser and Keri Russell are in town filming a movie. They will be at a bowling alley across town, and also just a few blocks from my work place! So cross your fingers that they will have some down time and they just happen to take a little walk, or drive East and...oooo...look at those old houses! Maybe we should see if we can take a little tour in one of them. Gee Harrison...do you think that one could be haunted? Do you think they will take us up to the third floor where the ghost is???
COME ON OVER GUYS! We'll give you a tour! LOL!

To Diet or Not to Diet.....

I feel for Kirstie Alley. She came out and confessed to gaining back all the weight she lost with Jenny Craig...and then some. That is what we do. We work our asses off and lose weight only for it to come back on with what someone just said to me in an email....it comes back and brings friends along. I know exactly what my problem is. I need to exercise. I will not lose weight unless I do. So I need to start walking again. And then get back on the elliptical machine. I should call my sister and see if she wants to start walking again. She has been able to keep the weight off that she lost. But she has also been exercising. She will say not as much as she should be, but I'm pretty sure she exercises more than she says. She also thinks she is fat in certain areas, like her tummy. I think she looks great. But isn't that what women do? Pick at their own bodies. I hate this, I hate that....and so on. We are never happy with what we have. I'm not happy at all with my weight gain. But I'm also not doing anything about it. So tonight I will. I will call my sister and see if she would like to start walking again. Hopefully she won't be too busy with work still. She has been working a lot of overtime. We'll see.....

MoVie ReVieW

Katie and I went to see Wolverine today. A little disappointed. I was hoping for something a little more dramatic. More like the other two X-Men movies that I really like. Is it two or three? Now I can't remember. Anyway, I really liked the others, and this one was a little cheesy. Katie kept snorting at parts. Snort, snicker, chuckle. It was cheesy. I'm still glad I saw it. I'm wondering though....was that really Hugh Jackman's butt? Or did he have a butt-double? Now that would be a disappointment!
There was a preview for a new Adam Sandler movie. I love how some of these movies follow that old Hollywood tradition of making movies with the same people in it. I find it more amusing to see the same people together. I think it makes it funnier because they already know how to play off each other. This one looks pretty good. And of course I can't remember the name of it.
Afterwards we went to Kohls to spend our Kohls Dollars that we earned a week or so ago. Spend so much money and they give you a certificate to come back and shop some more. Katie had $10 and I had $20. I found a comfy pair of shoes and still had $2.01 left over, so I gave it to Katie for a pair of tennis shoes that she was buying. They were $59.99 and she ended up only paying $17 for them. My shoes were originally $59.99. They were marked down to $17.99. And I paid Zero dollars for them! Zero, zip, nada! Good deal!
Well...the old Hollywood 3 is happening. So far Bea Arthur and Dom DeLouise (sp) have passed away. Was there already a third? Seems like there was another guy. Weird how that happens.
For my blog friends....
Renee Eve...I hope your mom came out of her surgery well.
Dreama....I hope your dad is doing better.
Glynis & Berry.....I'm so sorry. I have been there before. Not Robert, but me. I know how it feels. And it sucks. Big time.
(((HUGS))) to all of my friends. You have been in my thoughts today.....

Cook Bookers

We are putting together a cook book at work for our yearly fund raiser. So far we only have 24 recipes in there. I have only put in 2.....Cornucopia Salad and the Irish Cream Bundt Cake. It's hard for me to put in recipes for say...a main dish....because I do not measure anything when I cook dinner. I just know how much of whatever to use by sight. I dump some in, and then add some more. Such as spices in spaghetti sauce. I can tell you what spices I use, but I have no clue how much I dump in there.
We are going to try and have 300-400 recipes in there. Oiy...That's a lot. But if everyone submitted 3 recipes we would have that many.
So if any of you have really good recipes for anything, main dish, side dish, salad, soup, snacks, desserts, cookies, candy, drinks.....anything....I will credit your name in the book!
I would really like to add some regional type dishes that we may not have ever heard of here in the Northwest. I mean come on...how many salmon and apple recipes can we put in the book???

Need to get caught up.....

So as I said yesterday.....I skipped the Portland Bowl-A-Thon. Good thing. Hubby didn't even come home until after 6pm! That would have been way to long for me. Oiy...He just spent the afternoon visiting and reliving all his glory of being Capt BAT. He should have though. That is a buttload of money that they raised. We went for Chinese food and he totally pigged out and then went home, took a shower and crashed for the night. He was so tired.
I got quite a bit done yesterday. And then the storm hit. And hit fast. In fact, I was watching Casino on TV and they broke in with an alert, but the storm was already over us. Thank God we don't live in a tornado area. My roof would have already been gone! I was watching TV and then there was a flash of lightning, the computer popped off, and then the sky just literally opened up. I don't think I have ever seen it rain that hard that fast. It usually starts to sprinkle, then pick up. No. This was like a tsunami from the sky. And then the lightning flashed and burst right over the house, which freaked the cats out. Cammy slept thought the whole thing, but the kittens freaked and hid underneath the bed. I was able to get Kodi to come to me, but Aly stayed under there for over an hour. Kodi though wanted to be held. Poor thing. I was able to get a couple pictures after I was able to get my mind past the amazement of it all. But by that time it had let up a little. The pics still look crazy though.
Hubby already picked up the wine we ordered at the JA Wine Tasting Fund Raiser Wednesday night. That is always a good time. Someone who works at the office is married to a wine distributor and for a couple years now they have a wine tasting and then donate the money to JA. We did not buy any Reds this year. I thought we still has a lot of Reds from last year. Ooooopsie....we still had Whites. Oh well. We drink more whites now anyway since I figured out that the Reds give me headaches.
We bought 6 bottle of Domaine Bernard Defaix Chablis (France 2006) 6 bottles Domaine Eugene Carrel Altesse Rousette de Savoie Blanc (France 2007) 6 bottles Zolo Torrontes (Argentina 2007) and 6 bottles Domaine Eugene Carrel Rose (France 2008). I seem to like the French wines the best. The Zolo is really good.
This week should be nice and quiet. I am only busy Saturday when I go to my friend Beth's to make cards for May birthdays. That means i get to play with her kitty Hunter! He's a bigger version of Kodiak. And her kitty Tess looks a lot like Alyeska, just not as furry, but bigger! LOL! They really are quite a lot a like. Tess hides though and I usually only see her right before I leave. Silly kitty. Doesn't she realize how much I love the kitties????

Bowl-A-Thon

Hubby had his last two Bowl-A-Thons today for Junior Achievement. His total amount raised as of this afternoon is....
Over $95,000!!!!
That is so incredible! He had a goal of $100,000, which I thought was a little high. But he was so close to that. And in this economy to be able to bring in that kind of money, well its just fantastic!
I'm so proud of him....
Not much else to say today. I was so tired last night that I told Robert that I was going to stay home today and do laundry and stuff. I am going to be busy every Saturday the rest of the month, so I wanted to stay home. He was fine with that since he was going to be super busy at the event anyway.

I am not surprised that they are now backing off on causing pandemonium over the flu. This whole thing has been so ridiculous. I don't want to hear one more news report about it. Ugh...

Better move my laundry over....

Beautiful Day

This is the view out my window right now!

It's so nice out! What a beautiful day. And it's Friday to boot! WooHoo!
I'm going to try not to pay any attention to the H1N1 Flu, or as I call it Hinie Flu. The 1 after the H and N look like I's so it looks like HiNi, or Hinie! Whatever...
Hubby was telling me that he had to deal with that crap all day at work yesterday. The stores are out of hand sanitizer and face masks. Good lord people. A friend of his, who is retired, called him and said they should put up signs in the stores that say..."We are out of Hand Sanitizer and Masks. We do have condoms, so porking is still allowed." I know, bad taste, but funny.
