Some people just deserve what they get.....

I have a hard time with suicide. I do not know anyone personally who has taken their life. But I know people who have had family members or a loved one commit suicide. Most recently a blogging friend lost her brother-in-law...but I won't talk about her loss. I don't feel like I have a right too.
My first brush with suicide was actually when I was in elementary school. One of the girls was taken out of class one day. Her father had hung himself in their garage. I always felt so bad for her and her mom. It was just the two of them forever after that. She was always so shy and quiet in school. All through high school too. But I never knew what to say to her. So I ended up not saying anything. I'm so glad that she had friends though. I would have felt horrible if she had never had any friends after that. I was never able to walk past that house again. I would cross the street. Just a childhood fear I guess.
Another person I know who knew someone who did this is a lady I used to work with. She had been dating a guy for quite a while. He was a bit off his rocker I think. At least from what I hear. He would show up for work, but he would never go anywhere with her. He didn't like to go out for dinner, didn't like to take trips anywhere. Their relationship was not going anywhere either. He threatened her that if she ever left him he would kill himself. She didn't want to believe that he would do that, and she left him. He called her one night, said goodbye, and while she was still on the phone he shot himself. What a horrible thing to do to someone else. She never got over it. I don't think she ever will.
And now there is this guy back East who decided to kill some women who did nothing to him....NOTHING....before killing himself. From what he blogged, he was some poor guy who never got dates. Women hated him. Women shunned him. He wrote things like "Every evening I am alone, and then go to bed alone," he wrote. "I see twenty something couples everywhere. I see a twenty something guy with a nice twentyish young women. I think those years slipped right by for me. Why should I continue another 20+ years alone?" OK....dude....maybe it's because you were going for the typical hot young chick who had no interest in an older guy. Maybe you were alone all those years because you were either creepy or a dick. I'm sorry if I have offended anyone, but I get so sick of hearing about guys who blame women for their problems. Did he try therapy? Sounds like he really needed it.

The Ugly Truth....

Katie and I went to see The Ugly Truth this afternoon. Hilarious. At least I thought it was. I laughed...a lot! I wish Gerard Butler would have talked with his accent though. But then his sister would have had too, so it makes sense to have him speak "American". Katherine Heigl was really cute. It's rated R mostly for the language and just one butt. And of course the butt didn't belong to either Katherine or Gerard. Bummer. Well...not about Katherine, although she probably has a cute butt....no...I would not have minded seeing Gerard's! I have a feeling though that he would have had to wax it. He seems the hairy type. Lots of nasty nasty talk, but it made it all the more funnier. Good movie to see with chick friends.

Another Scandal for the "Family Values" Party

Well....another one bites the dust. A Republican Senator has packed up his office after he was found to be having an affair with an intern. I know....I know....Democrats are not innocent in this type of scandal either, but you know....those rascally Donkey's are always touting their "Family Values". I don't know about you, but I don't know of any family that values extramarital affairs.

That is all....
Carry on....

**UPDATE**
I am not happy at all with what I got done today. Bleck. I tried to do them different than what I did last year. I think it's because it's hot and stuffy in here...I could not think....which means I was not creative at all. But I have to turn stuff in Tuesday night....so I will just take in what I got done....
Today I will be working on mounting photos, cards and a mini scrapbook to enter in the fair. The scrapbook is done except for putting in photos. The cards I will be making today. We just got back from getting some of our Europe pictures blown up to 8X10 and 8X12's for the fair. Hubby did pick one butterfly picture from the yard though. Some of you may remember the pictures he took recently of the butterfly on the yellow lilly. Very pretty picture. Oh wait...he has one from the snow this Winter that he took down at Officers Row. So I have 4 Europe pictures to enter, he has 2 Europe, one yard and one Officers Row. OK...got it? Good. I will update during the day with photos of my progress!

aMAZing

This one was made by CakeGirls in Chicago. I love their work! This is one they did for a bridal shower. Very very cool!
This one was made by Cake Alchemy in NY. They do really unique cakes. This one is so gorgeous. The flowers and bubble lights on top are all blown sugar. So much detail. Love it!

I did not see the show for this cake...but how cool is that?! I would not want to cut into any of these cakes!

I have been watching the show Amazing Wedding Cakes on WeTV for a couple months. I love it. I can't believe what they do with cakes. Last night they had two cakes that were so cool. I will upload the pics. I am adding another one that I saw online that I have not seen the show yet. Must have missed it last week when we were on vacation. I'm sure I will catch the rerun. If you have not watched this show yet, you need too!
