......sometimes i just dont know why i do things.......

This morning I went to Facebook to check out updates.....see if there were any turtles to adopt(dang those suckers are hard to get.....use your gift box greedy people!) ...there was one, but yeh...someone placed it on their farm instead of sharing....go figure. I know I know...people don't always know about the multiple adopting...but people have been posting that for weeks. When I put one up for adoption I always put in the text to keep it in your gift box so that others can also adopt. Thankfully others have started doing that too! In the updates I saw that Miss Lois had posted a new blog. I used her link and went to read it. You can also read her blog by using the link to the right...Home Fires. Lois is super funny. If you have not read her blog about "Super Penis" you need to. Funny stuff. She mentioned again how she has been calling the test shows for Rosie O'Donnels new Sirius Radio show. Twice now she has gotten through and she spoke to Rosie. I thought about how I have not been to Rosie's Blog in a long time. So I went. In the first blog that was still up, she was talking about a website that she is addicted to, popthatzit.com. A game! Sweet! Probably like the bubble wrap where you just sit there and pop the bubbles and it makes sounds like when you are...you know....popping bubble wrap. So I thought to myself...hahaha....funny...you go and pop zits! Gross....but funny ha ha! I wondered if it would make sounds? What kind of gross graphics would it have.....ewwwww....but still....hahahaha....so I went. Ugh....Not. What. I. Thought. At. All......It was a site of videos of actual poppage of zits. OK....Ewwww....So what do I do? Watch about 5 videos and make myself queasy. I seriously am queasy. It was gross. Why did I not stop after the first video? Because it was gross. And I could not stop watching. The last one though did me in. It was actually made in a doctors office. It was sooooo sooooo sooooo nasty. So nasty. I mean...SO NASTY! But I watched.
.....sometimes i just dont know why i do things......

Hits....

I wish I had an actual count of the number of hits my blog gets. I have the feedjit that tells me where people are coming from, but you can remove yourself from that. I know that for sure some people come here to read and have blocked their IP from the feedjit because they told me they did. No biggie. I block my own! But I would really like a counter. I have been getting a lot of hits from people who google things like Haiku's. They have been going to my Fall & Halloween Haiku blog. No one leaves a comment though. I would like to know if some of these random people like them. I removed some pictures from an earlier blog though because I was getting so many people from overseas looking for that one app. Kinda odd, so I removed the picture. Now I'm not so worried about getting viruses from that. I panicked a little thinking I could get one. I hope I don't!

Halloween Week

I bought Halloween candy yesterday. I know I bought too much, but you just never know. And Bryan and Celina are coming down this weekend, so they will be here if we end up with extra. We were gone last year for Halloween, and we both kinda wanted to skip town again this year. But when Bryan said he was thinking of coming down, and my sisters grandson might be coming down, I decided not to push leaving. If the grandbaby does make it down with his mommy, then I will go Trick-or-Treating with them. If they don't make it down, I will hand out candy with hubby. When our kids were small we used to get tons of tricksters wanting treats. 300+ of them. Every year. For years. Now we get less than 20. It's sad. Our neighborhood grew up, and now we just don't get as many. I loved finding costumes for the kids. One year my friend Beth and I made a Cinderella dress for Katie. Of course Beth did all the hard work. I mean come on....the woman can make the most gorgeous Prom and Wedding dresses. So I just helped....if you can even call it that. My favorite costume of Bryan's was when he wanted to be Charlie Chaplin. I think he was maybe 7. It was hilarious. When he and Celina were seniors they were going to Homecoming, which is always a costume dance. The theme that year was Stranded. So what did they want to be? Pirates??? Nope. People stranded on a deserted island with their clothes all tattered and torn?? Nope. A coconut and a banana. So I took an old brown M&M costume and converted it into a coconut for Bryan, and then made a banana outfit for Celina. Would you believe 6 years later and Celina not only still has the banana, but she is going to wear it to the Halloween party they are going to Saturday. I will get pictures for sure!

High Tide

Well....today is the last day of Random Picture A Day Week. And what am I doing today worthy of a picture? Absolutely nothing. It's laundry day. So that is what you get! I thought about taking a picture of my pile of dirty clothes and towels....but I decided it would be better to not scare any small children or pets that may look past your shoulder while reading.
You will thank me for thinking of you and the little puppies and kitties. And your spawn.
That's it.
I don't have anything else.....
I could just sit here and try to figure out something else to write about. But why? All I would be able to come up with would be a complete waste of your time in having had to sit here and read it. Because really, I aint got nuffin. Not a thing. I am thirsty though. Drinking some water. Ice cold water. I love a glass of ice cold water. Refreshing. I'm kinda hungry too. Not much. Just kinda. We had a big breakfast. Hubby made apple/maple sausage, hash browns and french toast out of some really yummy cinnamon raisin bread. It was tasty. So we have not eaten since this morning. Making a big spaghetti dinner for Katie and Tim later. Maybe I will just have a couple chips. Or some crackers. MMMM....wish I had bought some cheese when I was at the store. But I didn't. I did buy some ice cream though. They had the holiday ice cream out. Pumpkin, Apple Pie and Peppermint. I love love love Peppermint ice cream, so I bought that and Apple Pie for hubby to try. He kinda scrunched his nose at it, but I know he will at least try it. Not sure what we will do with it if he doesn't like it. I usually have one bowl out of a container and then I don't have it again. Bryan is going to be down next weekend. Maybe he will eat some of it!
Are you bored yet?
Well......I better go move the laundry.......

Falls in Fall

We took a little drive this morning. It was going to be a sunny day, so we drove up to Multnomah Falls.

We took the old scenic highway and made some stops at most of the falls. This is the same road that I took Mary from MI on when she was here a few months ago. But this time it was all a blaze in color for Fall. And we were not the only ones who decided to do this. There were all kinds of people at all of the places we stopped at. We did a lot of hiking up and down hills. Definitely got my workout in already!
One funny thing happened to Robert.
A couple times he stopped in the road to take a picture. As you can see in the pic, the road was quite narrow. But he only stopped where people could see past him so that they could go around. Every time he stopped no one came by, so it was not a big deal....until the last time he did. He stopped and got out to take a picture. Then someone came down the road. No one was coming the other way, so he waved them along.....and the woman driving flipped him off! As Bryan always says....Someone needed a hug!
Don't know why she was so pissed....guess she did need a hug.....

The candyman can cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good.....

There is a man who comes to our office once a week and brings us candy. The Candyman is what everyone calls him. He doesn't always come on the same day though, so sometimes the bowl is empty for a while and people freak. "Where is the candy?" "Is the Candyman coming soon?" I used to always buy the candy for the front desk. I think that every front desk should have a candy bowl. It makes an office feel welcoming to have a bowl of candy available for everyone to have little treat. Even the delivery guys/gals will help themselves. Sometimes it seems like that is lunch for some of these agents. They just get to busy and don't stop to eat something. So they come down to my desk looking for anything to eat. So I always tried to keep some kind of candy around. I went out several months ago and bought some candy dishes. Really cute ones at Ross. So they were also really cheap! But now that the Candyman has been coming we have to use his bowl. And it's fricken butt ugly. Take a look....

He took a cheap plastic wine cup and glued it to the bottom of a cheap plastic bowl. I hate it. Isn't that mean? The guy is bringing us candy...a lot of candy...weekly for free....and I can't stand having that butt ugly bowl on my desk. Not when I went out and bought this....

Oh snap....I just saw that you can see the blue sticker on the bowl still. Oh well....

anyway....

I have these really nice bowls. The crystal one and then some holiday ones, and we have to use that ugly red one. One day when it was empty and I knew he would not be back until sometime the next week, I got tired of looking at that thing, so I went to put it in the credenza and I was having trouble getting it in there, and I accidentally broke the plastic wine glass. I felt bad, but was also kinda glad that....YAY no more ugly ass bowl! When the Candyman came the following week, he asked where the bowl was. And I told him that it accidentally got broken. He said "Oh. That's OK. I have more." And he went out and got a new ugly ass plastic red bowl with an ugly ass plastic wine cup glued into the bottom.

**sigh**

So here I sit, day after day, looking at all that candy, in that sorry looking red bowl.

will this day ever end??????

Yep.
Those are my feet. Today's picture is of my feet.
Why?
Because it's after 6pm and I have been on them since 5:30am. It's been a long day. And it's not over yet.
I got up at 5:30 this morning to get ready to take my mom to a doctor appt. I had to pick her up at 7am and I wanted time to take a shower and get ready. Needed to shave my legs because I had a massage appt at 9:30. I had to shave so that my masseuse didn't have to use my hairy legs as a loofah for her hands. That and I didn't want to scare her. So I took mom to her appt and we were there at 7:20. Appt was at 7:30. We waited and waited. Finally someone came out at 7:45 and asked it mom had an appt. Yes. That would be why we are here. Turns out the girl who was suppose to check her in forgot she needed to come in early. Why they didn't just schedule her appt for their normal hours is beyond me. So we ended up there a little longer than we needed to be. When we were done I had a little time before my massage so I hung out at mom's for a while. Then I had my massage. After that I met up with a friend that I grew up with and have not seen in 27 years. Christy was my best friend in Elementary School. We grew up in the same neighborhood and I loved to go to her house because she always had the best games! Good times. I found her on Facebook and we have been talking for a couple weeks. We both had today off so we got together for lunch and visited for 2 hours. It was so fun to talk to her. I hope we will be able to get together again. It was nice to talk.
After lunch I went back and picked up mom and we went to a movie. The Invention of Lying. It had it's moments. I like Ricky Gervaise. I find him to be quite hilarious! I was not aware of this movie poking fun at religion though. I found that funny. But some...ahem....may not find it very funny. I did though....(insert evil laughter)
As I was dropping mom off after the movie my cell rang. It was my sister asking if I was coming over to walk. I told her I just needed to go home and change. We walked for an hour and I just got home.
I be pooped.....
But I have to stay up to watch Survivor.....
I....will......make.....it.....

It's Raining Pumpkin Cookies!

**all of the pictures this week have been, and will be from my cell phone**
The rain has finally let up a little bit. I woke up this morning to hear it just pouring. And since the trees have been dropping all of their leaves, that means all the drains are plugged so the roads are flooding. It has let up some, so not too bad out right now. As far as I know though, it's suppose to rain all day. I don't really care if people rake the leaves out of their yard. We don't. But it's just common sense to clear the drains in front of your house so that the water has somewhere to go. Not that hard to do. My sisters street floods all the time. At the end of her road the street kind of dips just enough so that the water pools there. Well if you add leaf clogged drains on top of it, she gets a huge mess that she has to drive through. At least she is at the top of the slight hill so the water is never a problem for them. And since no one can seem to be bothered down there to clear the drains, her husband walks down there with a rake and does it. The water will go up into peoples driveways and they still don't clear the drains. Lazy.
This morning after hubby left for work I still had about 1-1/2 hours before I had to get up. No I do not sleep that late...he leaves that early. This morning he left at 5-somethingish...I did not have to get up until 7am. Of course, after he left I was wide awake. And then I started thinking about the movie I saw with Katie yesterday. Yep. That movie. Paranormal Activity. The movie that we laughed at, that I was no longer laughing at now that I was home alone, in the dark. I cuddled with Kodiak and tried to go back to sleep. I made sure me feet were completely wrapped around under the blanket so that no evil entity could reach and grab my foot and pull me right out of the bed and down the hall. And then I had to pee, which meant getting up....in the dark. So I laid there for about 30-40 minutes fighting the urge to get up. But I finally had too. That meant that the kitty got up too and most likely thought I was getting up to feed him. But I wasn't going to do that, it was too early. And once I got up the kitty left the room and didn't come back for a while. So I just laid there trying not to think about the movie. I finally fell asleep about 15 minutes before I was going to get up. I should have just gotten up.

This morning at work, the staff ( me, Karen and Diane ) were in charge of treats for the office meeting. So we brought meat and cheese, rolls, bananas, apples with caramel dip and homemade sugar cookies. Karen makes the best sugar cookies. They are always a big hit.
So today there are 2 pictures. I just had to share the cookies with you!

POPCORN!

I'm so sorry that today's picture is so late. I was able to convince Katie to go see Paranormal Activity today, so I knew I wanted to take a picture of my popcorn! Nothing like movie popcorn!
It was a dumb movie. Dumb Dumb Dumb. I was disappointed. I guess I was expecting more. It was OK....just not super scary like I thought. Well that and Katie and I kept laughing. Made it easier to watch. Although every time they would go to the scenes where they were recording themselves sleeping, I would start looking at the corner of the room because I kept expecting something to jump out at me. Nope. I won't spoil the movie if anyone else goes to see it.
If you do....let me know what you thought of it.....
Maybe I'm just not that scared of stuff like since I have been working in a haunted house for 4 years.......

a big ol hoax.....

How tragic for those little boys. Their father is one big publicity whore who will stoop to nothing to get his face some TV time. It's sick. I have to admit that I hope he gets some jail time so that mom and boys will have a chance to get away from him. I think they are all abused, physically and mentally. Once they are out from under him, maybe they will get some counseling and will begin to heal from all these years of abuse....
so sad.....

A Walk Amongst The Colors

(this is not one of their pictures. stole this off the interwebs)

We enjoyed the nicest walk today. My sister and niece took their cameras so that they could take some pictures. They took some really beautiful ones. If they get them uploaded I will steal some and put on here. The sun was out and it was making the colors of the Fall trees so bright and vibrant.
And now it's raining. And we even had a little thunder.
So glad we were able to enjoy the beautiful sunny morning....even if it was only for an hour.....

**shaking head** hmmmm......

I don't even know where to start today. I debated on even discussing some of this. But I can't get it out of my head.
Yesterday two things were all over the news.
#1 Balloon Boy
#2 Louisiana Judge

Lets start with #1 because #2 is just that...a bunch of crap!

#1: Balloon Boy
What a freaking nightmare. I was so worried. I watched live video on CNN online of that poor 6 year old boy tumbling helplessly in the sky, thousands of feet in the air. Wondering, trying to figure out how in the world they were going to save him. To me, there was no way. The height of the balloon, the spinning and spinning. I just couldn't see how the poor little thing could survive that. When the balloon finally landed and the cops and firemen were just kind of standing around I was heart sick. I knew that he had died. They were not doing anything to get the little guy out. He was gone. ummmmm....hold on there buddy....don't start shedding those tears that are welling up in your eyes. He is not in the balloon. YAY! Now they just need to find him around the house! ummmmm....hold on there buddy....turns out there was a box attached to the balloon that is no longer attached...and someone saw it fall off.....oh no...the tears are back in my eyes. Now they have to search for the box with the possible body of this 6 year old. How awful.....hold on there buddy.....he is at the house! YAY! They found him. He was hiding in the garage attic the whole time.
So why the hell was the property not completely searched? Every friggen inch of that property should have been searched. Every friggen inch! They had to shut down an airport because of this. They used police, fire and the National Guard because of this. But the boy is safe. Just scared. That is what is most important....hold on there buddy.....this could have all been a hoax? WTS???? Last night on CNN the boy was asked if he heard people calling for him. Yep. "Really?" asked "surprised" mom and dad. Gee son, if you could hear us calling for you why didn't you come? "Ummmm...you guys...ummmm...said it was for the show." WTS?????? I can not believe this. A hoax. And now this morning there is a video that the stupid ass father released showing the take off of the balloon. The balloon that has NO BOX ATTACHED to it. You know....the box that the brother said that the kid had crawled into before liftoff. The box that the dad said was attached to the balloon that caused the police to start searching for it. You know...the box that is clearly not attached to it as dad is standing there watching it go into the air.....

#2: Louisiana Judge
Oh man....I don't even know where to begin. **sigh** I just can't believe that someone can be like this. It's 2009.
A judge in Louisiana denied a married license to a couple because....he is black she is white. If this isn't the biggest WTF this year I will be shocked. He is quoted as saying that he denied the license "out of concern for any children the couple might have." Because according to him "He came to the conclusion that most of black society does not readily accept offspring of such relationships, and neither does white society, he said.
"There is a problem with both groups accepting a child from such a marriage," Bardwell said. "I think those children suffer and I won't help put them through it." Because you know....Halle Berry is not very successful. Neither is Mariah Carey. Our own President Obama is suffering greatly because he is mixed race. Ya know those mixed race babies aint gonna amount to nothin cause all kinds hate em....Then he had the gaul to say this little nugget...."I have piles and piles of black friends. They come to my home, I marry them, they use my bathroom. I treat them just like everyone else." WOW! You let "them" use your bathroom! Now there is a guy who should have won the Nobel Peace Prize!

gawd.....i've become an 80 year woman.....

I'm so freaking tired today. And I feel kinda crappy. I woke up this morning at 4am, but felt fine. Couldn't get back to sleep so I cuddled with the kitty since hubby was long gone from bed. I tried to go back to sleep but Kodi's whiskers were tickling my face and it was bugging me. By this time it was after 5am and hubby came in to get ready for work. Again...still felt fine. I decided to just turn on the TV and try to watch a movie. I ended up watching Ladies in Lavender or something like that. Has Judy Dench and Maggie Smith. Love them. Finally after hubby left for work I got tired and turned the TV off and went back to sleep. I have been tired ever since. Ugh....And to top it off, I ate bad bad stuff this morning at the office and paid for it. But it was so yummy. We had our Wednesday morning meeting, and someone is always in charge of bringing treats. Today's treats were 2 different potato/cheese/meat hot dishes, fruit salad and mini muffin/cinnamon rolls. I ate too much of the potatoes and have been crappy all day. Literally. Sorry....TMI....I know better. I didn't eat dinner last night so I was pretty hungry this morning. I have been kinda sick to my stomach all day. I went home at lunch and did something I have never done on a work day. I took a nap. A FREAKING NAP! I have become an 80 year old woman who needs naps during the day. I went home, set my alarm to let me rest for 1/2 an hour and curled up in the big comfy chair in my soft warm bathrobe and promptly fell asleep. As usual for me, I woke up 3 minutes before it would have gone off. But still.....I took a nap....on a work day. I grabbed some wheat saltines and brought some to work to eat this afternoon. I just need something in my stomach. But I didn't want to eat a sandwich or anything. I doubt I will even want dinner tonight.
Hope I'm not getting sick.....

Baby Gots a New Pair o'Shoes

So I bought myself some new walking shoes. Wore them last night and I have to say that they probably cut my leg pain by half. If it does not rain tonight we are going out again...but we are suppose to be getting a good Fall storm. It has been really windy all day, but just a little rain this morning....
Now I have to go back to work! I have a little project that was just dropped off on my desk! YAY!

So -So Sunday

I was so tired today. Blah...I need to take vitamins. I have them. I just need to take them. I have not done ...or maybe I should say finished....everything that I wanted to get accomplished. I made a couple cards...got my walk in early this morning...did a little laundry....but have not cleaned out the cat boxes like I need to. Better do that soon or Aly will rebel.
I have been walking for something like 3 months with my sister and niece. And every time we walk my legs start bitching at me. And it's only the muscles in my lower legs in the front. Thighs, calfs, knees....all fine. It's only that front muscle. This morning I put on some lotion that Terri gave me and took 2 Advil before leaving, but it didn't help. So I bought some Flexal and will try that tomorrow. Hope that helps. I can't take much more of this pain. And I'm sure Terri is tired of me whining the whole time we walk. OK....maybe I don't whine that much....but in my head I'm crying like a big baby.....

Thoughts from Michael Moore.....

October 10th, 2009 6:01 PM

Get Off Obama's Back ...second thoughts from Michael Moore

Friends,

Last night my wife asked me if I thought I was a little too hard on Obama in my letter yesterday congratulating him on his Nobel Prize. "No, I don't think so," I replied. I thought it was important to remind him he's now conducting the two wars he's inherited. "Yeah," she said, "but to tell him, 'Now earn it!'? Give the guy a break -- this is a great day for him and for all of us."

I went back and re-read what I had written. And I listened for far too long yesterday to the right wing hate machine who did what they could to crap all over Barack's big day. Did I -- and others on the left -- do the same?

We are weary, weary of war. The trillions that will have gone to these two wars have helped to bankrupt us as a nation -- financially and morally. To think of all the good we could have done with all that money! Two months of the War in Iraq would pay for all the wells that need to be dug in the Third World for drinking water! Obama is moving too slow for most of us -- but he needs to know we are with him and we stand beside him as he attempts to turn eight years of sheer madness around. Who could do that in nine months? Superman? Thor? Mitch McConnell?

Instead of waiting to see what the president is going to do, we all need to be pro-active and push the agenda that we want to see enacted. What keeps us from forming the same local groups we put together to get out the vote last November? C'mon! We're the majority now -- the majority by a significant margin! We call the shots -- and we need to tell this wimpy Congress to get busy and do what we say -- or else.

All I ask of those who voted for Obama is to not pile on him too quickly. Yes, make your voice heard (his phone number is 202-456-1414). But don't abandon the best hope we've had in our lifetime for change. And for God's sake, don't head to bummerville if he says or does something we don't like. Do you ever see Republicans behave that way? I mean, the Right had 20 years of Republican presidents and they still couldn't get prayer in the public schools, or outlaw abortion, or initiate a flat tax or put our Social Security into the stock market. They did a lot of damage, no doubt about that, but on the key issues that the Christian Right fought for, they came up nearly empty handed. No wonder they've been driven crazy lately. They'll never have it as good again as they've had it since Reagan took office.

But -- do you ever see them looking all gloomy and defeated? No! They keep on fighting! Every day. Our side? At the first sign of wavering, we just pack up our toys and go home.

So, at least for this weekend, let us celebrate what people elsewhere are celebrating -- that America now has a sane and smart man in the White House, a man who truly wants a world at peace for his two daughters.

Many, for the past couple days (yes, myself included), have grumbled, "What has he done to earn this prize?" How 'bout this:

The simple fact that he was elected was reason enough for him to be the recipient of this year's Nobel Peace Prize.

Because on that day the murderous actions of the Bush/Cheney years were totally and thoroughly rebuked. One man -- a man who opposed the War in Iraq from the beginning -- offered to end the insanity. The world has stood by in utter horror for the past eight years as they watched the descendants of Washington, Lincoln and Jefferson light the fuse of our own self-destruction. We flipped off the nations on this planet by abandoning Kyoto and then proceeded to melt eight more years worth of the polar ice caps. We invaded two nations that didn't attack us, failed to find the real terrorists and, in effect, ignited our own wave of terror. People all over the world wondered if we had gone mad.

And if all that wasn't enough, the outgoing Joker presided over the worst global financial collapse since the Great Depression.

So, yeah, at precisely 11:00pm ET on November 4, 2008, Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. And the 66 million people who voted for him won it, too. By the time he took the stage at midnight ET in the Grant Park Historic Hippie Battlefield in downtown Chicago, billions of people around the globe were already breathing a huge sigh of relief. It was as if, in that instant, one man did bring the promise of peace to the world -- and most were ready to go wherever he wanted to go to achieve that end. Never before had the election of one man made every other nation feel like they had won, too. When you've got billions of people ready, willing and able to join a cause like this, well, a prize in Oslo is the least that you deserve.

One other thought. The Peace Prize historically has been given to those who have worked to throw off the yoke of racial discrimination and segregation (Martin Luther King, Jr., Desmond Tutu). I think the Nobel committee, in awarding Obama the prize, was also rewarding the fact that something profound had happened in a nation that was founded on racial genocide, built on racist slavery, and held back for a hundred-plus years by vestiges of hateful bigotry (which can still be found on display at teabagger rallies and daily talk radio). The fact that this one man could cause this seismic historical event to occur -- and to do so with such grace and humility, never succumbing to the bait, but still not backing down (yes, he asked to be sworn in as "Barack Hussein Obama"!) -- is more than reason enough he should be in Oslo to meet the King on December 10. Maybe he could take us along with him. 'Cause I also suspect the Nobel committee was tipping its hat to all of us -- we, the American people, had conquered some of our racism and did the truly unexpected. After seeing searing images of our black fellow citizens left to drown in New Orleans -- and poor whites seeing their own treated no better than the black man they had been raised to hate -- we had all seen enough. It was time for change.

Thank you, Barack Obama, for giving us the opportunity to redeem ourselves. Now for the tasks ahead. We need you to do all that you promised to do. We need it. The world needs it.

My prediction for the future? You become the first *two-time* winner of the Nobel Peace Prize! Yeah!

Fall & Halloween Haiku's

I was bored Thursday afternoon....

Fall Haiku's

A breeze chills the air
Blowing leaves red and orange
Trees blazing color

A busy squirrel
Many nuts he will gather
Will he have enough

Yellow corn awaits
Bountiful harvest season
Fall is in the air

Field of Fall colors
With pumpkins cold and frosty
On vines all twisted

Halloween Haiku's

A child walks slowly
Haunted house glows in darkness
Dared to Trick or Treat

The moon glows softly
Casting eery dark shadows
Bats flutter above

Pumpkins on the porch
A black cat waits amongst them
To pounce at your feet

Witches Trick or Treat
On a chilly Halloween
For candy and screams

A ghost floats beyond
The graveyard dark and lonely
Do you see her tears

The last one is kinda sad.....but I liked it....

What to do with my free time......

I have been finding myself with so much free time during the day. I need something new to keep me interested. I would like to find some really fun blogs to read, but I just don't know where to start. If I spend too much time looking at clothing or craft sites, then I just end up spending money. And I don't want to do that. I have 3 sites that I go to daily....lolcats, mommy wants vodka and cake wrecks. Love them all. But I need something to to read. Maybe I will check out some of the blogs that Aunt Becky (mommy wants vodka) has links too.
Anyone have any suggestions???

Oh Dave.....

So....I'm not so sure what I think about this whole David Letterman debacle. Do I feel sorry for him? Not at all. (I guess that means I do know what I think about the whole thing.) That is what you get when you have an affair...or have affairs plural. Do I think the guy had the right to blackmail him? No. Come on Dave....people don't get blackmail material out of thin air. You just don't do shit like that and get away with it. You may get away with it for a while....but sooner or later someone talks, or someone finds out. I think this blackmailer and his lawyer are total assholes though. The nerve of them to blame Dave for the whole thing. Saying how Dave is this master manipulator. Dude...you blackmailed him and then tried to cash the fake check for 2 million dollars. Ahemmm...that is illegal dumbshit. (sorry for the cuss bombs)
The thing that I question the most though is why this girl? Have you seen her? She is a plain jane. Nothing that would be a major score for having her or anything. Just an average girl. Dave could have had any hot chick he wanted. The guy is a millionaire. Cheap hot chicks will do it with any guy as long as he has some money. So why did he pick this girl? I think he did because he IS a manipulator. But not the kind that the sleazy lawyer is making him out to be. No...I think Dave is the worst kind of manipulator. He preys on single, maybe lonely plain girls who he knows he can get to have sex with him because they may not have had a boyfriend for a long time. (I know she had a boyfriend after the affair.) He knows that all he has to do is give them a little attention, tell them how much he wants them. They fall for it because finally someone wants them. Someone tells them they are pretty. They are wanted. He can't do that with a pretty girl. Pretty girls can have anyone. Nope. A pretty girl would have cost him some money.
Well Dave....the plain girl is gonna cost you more than money now....

The J-Boys on TV....

Journey is on Oprah today. I can't wait to go home and watch the DVR of the show. From what I have heard from friends who have already seen the show, they say it's great. Can't wait...
Will have to forbid hubby from watching until I get back from my walk though. Which will be super hard to do. But he will just have to wait.

Found a good use for the pineapple....

This wine was really good. Very sweet and fruity. It was given to us as a gift in Hawaii. Our friends Debbie and Jerry gave that to us when we went over to their condo for dinner in Kihei. I wanted to bring it home so I wrapped it up in a ton of clothes and checked it in my bag. And it made it! I always worry that something like that will break.
Here is tonights yummy dinner!

Hubby planned all week what he wanted to cook for dinner tonight. He roasted a chicken smothered in sweet & sour sauce and then we cut that up and had it over rice with green peppers, red peppers, onion, cabbage and some of the pineapple that we brought back from Hawaii. It was so yummy. Katie found out what we were having for dinner and she...once again...mooched some dinner off us. This has become a Sunday ritual for her. Find out what mom & dad are having and if it sounds good...show up! I love it though. She usually takes some leftovers for Tim, but this time she didn't want the vegis with the cabbage on it, so I just put some together for my lunch tomorrow. Makes it easy for me! Other than that, I have had a nice relaxing Sunday. Just hanging around with the kitties and hubby. Met up with my sister and niece for a walk this morning. We have been so good with our walks. I have not been weighing myself because I don't want to think about this as having to exercise to lose weight. (which is the truth) I just really want to get in shape. To me that means having more energy, being able to walk, bike whatever without feeling tired and winded. So I am walking. My feet are pissed off at me, but they will get used to it!
Looking forward to having a good week.
Hope you are too!

Beth Day!

My friend Beth came over today to make cards. I love Beth Day! It's so much fun to just sit at the table all day and make cards. Except when we goof. I little extra ink here...a little too much cut off there...not the right solid color to match the patterned paper.... It's all good though. There were many a time today where we both said "Shit!" or "Crap!" or "Damn it!" OK...maybe it was just me that used those words..but I know Beth wanted to say them. Actually I think she used the crap bomb a couple times. It was funny because when we first started, both of us were making mistakes. Which we usually never do. So it was kinda funny that we were both messing up. I tossed a whole front section of a card. And my black/cream card has a little ink line on it from where the ink pad hit the edge of the Happy Birthday stamp. But the card was completed and I didn't want to take it apart. It's just a little mistake. At least they will know for sure that it was hand made! I was tweaked that it even happened because I always run my finger down the side of the stamps to make sure that I remove any ink that is there. But it didn't all come off. Damn it anyway....All in all, I'm happy with what I got done. 9 cards in something like 4 hours. She got here at noon, but we went and picked up lunch and then had that first. I also had to bake her 2 bundt cakes. When I did the Junior Achievement fund raiser back around Easter, Beth bought 2 bundt cakes but did not want them at that time. She said "I will let you know when I need them" She called the other night..."I need them." So this morning before she got here I made her a lemon bundt cake and a chocolate one. I glazed them about half way through making cards. She is taking them to church tomorrow. The lemon one smells so good. One of these days I need to make one for us!
Not that I need that or anything....

Your Lov'n Teddy Bear

This is funny!

The Sensitive Man

A woman meets a man in a bar.

They
talk; they connect; they end up leaving together.

They get back to his place,

and as he shows her around his
apartment.

She notices that one wall of his
bedroom is completely filled with soft, sweet,
cuddly teddy bears.

There are three shelves in the
bedroom, with hundreds and hundreds of cute,
cuddly teddy bears carefully placed
in rows, covering the entire wall!

It was obvious that he had taken
quite some time to lovingly arrange them

and she was immediately touched

by the amount of thought he had
put into organizing the display.

There were small bears all along
the bottom shelf,

medium-sized bears covering the
length of the middle shelf,
and huge, enormous bears running
all the way along the top shelf.

She found it strange for an
obviously masculine guy to
have such a large collection of
Teddy Bears,

She is quite impressed by his
sensitive side, but
doesn't mention this to him.

They share a bottle of wine and
continue talking and, after
awhile, she finds herself thinking,
'Oh my God! Maybe, this guy
could be the one!

Maybe he could be the future
father of my children?'

She turns to him and kisses him
lightly on the lips. He responds warmly.

They continue to kiss, the passion builds,

and he romantically lifts her in
his arms and carries her into his bedroom
where they rip off each other's
clothes and make hot, steamy love.

She is so overwhelmed that she
responds with more passion,
more creativity, more heat than she
has ever known.

After an intense, explosive night
of raw passion with this sensitive guy,
they are lying there together in
the afterglow.

The woman rolls over, gently
strokes his chest and asks coyly,
'Well,how was it?'

The guy gently smiles at her,

strokes her cheek, looks deeply
into her eyes, and says:

'Help yourself to any prize from
the middle shelf'

Holey Moley....Did the day go fast or what!

Wow....where oh where did the day go???
Even though I had the day off...I got up early for a dental appt. I made the mistake of telling them that one of my teeth hurt sometimes when I bite down. Oiy....I had to do the icky bite test where you have to bite down on that hard plastic stick. Which is suppose to cause the tooth in question to hurt like a mo-fo. Turns out the tooth I thought was the problem wasn't it at all. It was one 2 away. Weird how you think for sure it is one and it turns out to not even be close. So I guess I have a crack and will have to have a crown put on. Bleck. It doesn't hurt all the time, just sometimes when I bite down. So no hurry.
When I got home I addressed a bunch of cards and then my mommy showed up. We spent the pretty much the rest of the day together. I took her out to lunch and paid for the movie since it is her B-day tomorrow. We saw Fame. It was good...not great. We both kept comparing it to the original.
Then we went shopping and when I got home I changed and headed to my sisters to go walk. Now I'm pooped....
I need more energy.....
