Wednesday is Friday in my world.....again!

ahhhhhhhhh......
Today is my Friday.
From now on.....again!
I am so so so happy that I get to have my 4 day weekends back.
It was not only a long 3 months of working full time, but a long extended year of working on Friday.
It was OK.
I did like having Tuesday off.
But I have said this before and I am saying it again.....
I do not like to work on Friday!
I'm so freaking spoiled and I don't care.
We are going to be able to go out camping a lot more now.
We hardly went out last year at all.
I don't think Robert and I went out in the trailer for a weekend alone all year.
Not that I can remember.
We were always camping with other people.
Nothing wrong with that.
But sometimes you just need to get away for weekend by yourself.
I'm really looking forward to it :-)

Been thinking of Mary today.
I hope everything went well and she is home safe recovering.

Happy (Wednesday) FRIDAY!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

as mary said....sucky sucky!

My friend Mary is having some lipo done tomorrow.
I would love do it, but I don't want to spend the money on it.
I could really go for a tummy tuck and lipo, among other things.
But I know I won't do it.
To chicken.
And cheap.
Can't wait to hear how it goes for her.

Back to my old schedule....

Today is the beginning of me going back to my old schedule.
For 4 years I worked Mon-Tue-Wed.
Then in Dec of 08 they asked if I would work Mon-Wed-Fri.
I did that for a year.
In January I asked if I could go back to the original schedule, and I was told that I could.
The next day the admin person quit, so I have been full time since.
But now I'm back to my old schedule!
**exhale**
I'm so glad.
I really didn't mind the MWF because I liked having Tue off.
But I hated....HATED.....working Friday.
Bleck.
I really like my 4 day weekends, and now I have them back!
YAY!
I feel so much relief knowing that I am going to get my 4 days in a row off again.
I can get so much more done.
And still have a day to myself.
Soooooo HAPPY!!!!!!!

had a niiiice relaxing day....

everything new is old again.....

I did it.
I colored my hair back to what it was before.
Kinda.
Robert said it is still lighter than when we got married.
He said it was almost black then.
I think it just seems so dark to me because I have been a blond for about 8 years.
I'm very happy with it!
Of course, I think it looks way better in person.
I am not photographic at all.....
But I still wanted you to see the new old me :-)

I can't believe that I'm showing you what
I let my hair get to.
Look at that gray!

And here is the new old me :-)

old monitors never die.....

I brought my old computer monitor here to the office so that we can have a nice one to use. The one we were using was the second one in five years, but it was still one of those huge old dinosaur types. It was too dark, you couldn't see anything that was dark, or in the shade. I would look at a lolcat and not get the joke until I looked at it at home and saw the black cat or something. This will make such a huge difference! But I do see though that the font is weird, and the screen is a little too light, so I need to make some adjustments. Once that is done....WOO HOO! Watch out!

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

sorry

no blog again today. sorry...i just dont have anything i want to talk about. im going through some tough stuff, and just dont care to talk right now.....
sorry....

iMAC'n

I bought myself an iMAC yesterday. Oh my gawd...it's so much faster than the dinosaur I was using. I just have to get used to the smaller keyboard and the mouse. So far I have not been having any problems. When farming though, it tends to not accept the click and I have to do it again. Or it wants to move over when I'm trying to do something. I think it's just touchy and I will get used to it. I love it though! Huge beautiful screen, lots of fun stuff to do with it. Can't wait to really get in it and start messing around with photos and stuff. The mouse and keyboard are bluetooth, so there are no cords getting in the way. Did I say how HUGE the screen is?!?!?! I decided that I didn't need the 27" screen, but I did get the 21". I love it! I could have gone smaller, but why? I wanted something nice that I would have for a really long time. I think this is it. And I'm so happy that I bought it :-)

A Childhood Poem

This was my favorite poem as a child.
It is such a beautiful day today that it brought it to mind!

The Swing
Author: Robert Louis Stevenson - 1850-1894

How do you like to go up in a swing?
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown -
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

Sandra....Leave the lying cheating JERK!

"Sandy can't you see
I'm in misery (poor baby)
We made a start
now were apart (because you are a lying cheating bastard)
There's nothing left for me (damn right!)
Love has flown
all alone I sit and wonder why-yi-yi-yi
Why, you left me
oh Sandy (ummm news flash...she left because you CHEATED with a SKANK!)

Sandy my darling
you hurt me real bad (excuse me? the only thing that should be hurting is your nuts that she kicked!)
You know it's true
but baby you gotta believe me (she will NEVER believe another thing that comes out of your lying cheating mouth)
When I say I'm helpless without you (maybe you should have thought of that before you thought with just your dick)
Love has flown
all alone I sit, I wonder why-yi-yi-yi
Why, you left me
oh Sandy" (do i really need to point out again to you why she left?)

I have had these words to Sandy from Grease in my head ever since I heard about Jesse James making THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HIS PATHETIC LIFE!
I'm just sick over it. Like it really should be affecting me, but when you think that someone is truly in love, and then you find out that they were cheated on, it just makes me feel sick. Maybe it all stems from my dad having cheated on my mom. To anyone who knew them, you thought they were completely in love. My parents were always kissing and hugging in the kitchen, and then all of a sudden he acted like he hated her all along. It was a confusing time for not only my mom, but us kids too. So when I think that there is a rare Hollywood couple who are really in love, and then he cheats, it just makes me feel sick.
And sad.
And confused.
I just check on imdb to see how many Sandra Bullock movies I have seen. It's a lot. 25. Here they are....
The Blind Side *
All About Steve
The Proposal *
Premonition *
The Lake House *
Miss Congeniality 2
Crash
Two Weeks Notice *
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Siterhood *
Murder by Numbers *
Miss Congeniality *
28 Days
Forces of Nature
Practical Magic *
Hope Floats
Speed 2
In Love and War *
A Time to Kill
The Net
While You Were Sleeping *
Speed
Demolition Man
The Thing Called Love
The Vanishing
Love Potion #9
I think you can say that I like her work....
* my favorites *

A walk on the beach will never be the same.....

I was reading on Yahoo News this morning about a man who was jogging on the beach and was hit and killed by a plane.
Who would have ever thought that something like that would happen?
It's not like an airplane has a horn that you can honk at someone to get out of the way.
The guy was probably just running along, enjoying the sound of the ocean or maybe listening to his favorite tunes on his iPod...
and then never even knew what was about to happen.
Can you even imagine what the poor pilot went through? I don't know what else they could have done.
Gone down in the water instead?
I guess losing your plane is better than killing someone.
But we don't know what was going on with the pilot.
We don't know if he had already done everything he could have.
It's just so very sad.....

MY SON RAN IN A MARATHON.....and other stuff....

Bryan wants me to let everyone know that HE RAN IN A MARATHON YESTERDAY!
But that is all I can tell you about it.
He did not bother to call his mother and let her know how it went.
I had to stalk him on Facebook to even find out that he had even survived it!
Sounds like he had a good time.
Sounds like he will do another one.
Sounds like he drank a ton of beer afterwards in celebration.
I could never understand that.
Why does someone do something very athletic, burn a ton of calories, and then celebrate that accomplishment by putting it all back on drinking booze.
Something for you to ponder....
Sorry Bubba....I was not directing that last line at you.
It happens all the time.
People play a softball game and then go out and drink afterwards.
Or people who smoke DURING a game.
Gee....you might be able to run the bases without getting out of breath if you had not just smoked a cigarette!
Something for them to ponder...
**Bryan....I'm very proud of you for running in a Marathon! I think that's incredible!**
Changing channels on you.
I mentioned this on Facebook Friday, but did not here.
I stop at a drive-up coffee stand on my way to work. I used to just stop twice a week, sometimes three times, but since I have been working full time, I have been stopping almost every day. Not good for me, but oh well. I turned into the lot to get in line, and I was watching the cars that were already in line that I was going to be crossing in front of to make sure they did not pull out, and then I turned into the lane I was going to wait in. That is when I saw another car coming from the other direction doing the same thing. I felt bad that I kinda cut her off. I say "kinda" because I really don't know if I did, or if she was just coming in behind me. But I felt bad because she would have been in the lot before me to get to where she was, and I had just turned into it. So I felt bad. When it was my turn to order, I asked Renee the barista if she knew what the car behind me usually orders. She looked and said that yes she did know. I told Renee that I wanted to pay for their drink. She smiled and asked if I knew her. I told her that I did not know her. Renee said "That is so sweet!" I handed Renee my card, and then forgot to have her add the $1 tip. She said to me "It's alright. You've done enough." Well this morning I stopped at the coffee stand to get my mocha and Renee was all excited to see me. She said "You started quite the morning for us Friday!" I said "Really?" Renee then told me that after I bought that woman her drink, she was so happy that she bought the drink for the person behind her, they bought for the person behind them...and so on and so on! She said it went on for something like 5 cars or more before it ended! That is so cool that people kept it going! I like to think that the only reason it ended was because there was no car for the last person to buy for :-)
I am going to keep thinking about that all day.
It makes me feel good.
And that will help me to have a really good day :-)

took the day off

and really enjoyed it :-)
hope you had as relaxing a day as i did!

Go ask Alice......

Went to see Alice in Wonderland today.
It was good.
I didn't think the 3D was as good as Avatar. Could have been my glasses.
Things that I thought were suppose to be floating in front of me weren't.
They ended up kinda blurry instead.
Other than that.....it was a creepy, and yet humorous, Tim Burton movie.
I'm a little tired of Johnny Depp always acting the same though.
I need to see him in something besides Pirates.
This was almost the same as that.
Funny....but tiring.
Helena Bonham Carter was super funny as the Queen of Hearts.
And I thought Anne Hathaway was funny too as the over-the-top-sweetness White Queen.
It was funny how she was faking her floaty overtly feminineness.
I found that quite funny.
And also when the Mad Hatter would be rambling and then just say "Fez"
Had to be there I guess.
It was good.
Creepy.
Like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Oiy....Creepyness.
They looked like little mini fat bald Napoleon Dynamites.
But in a funny way...
I guess....

I am now the proud owner of a Castle!

OK....it's a FarmVille castle...but it's still mine!
Very cool too.
I put my white houses in storage and sold a couple barns to get the other ones.
I think the graphics on some of the newer items are so much better.
I really like the French style barn with the ivy around it.
Gawd....
I'm such a geek.
I noticed the other day that you could buy FarmVille game cards and redeem them for FV cash or coin.
Why anyone would BUY FV coins is beyond me. I have over 3 million just sitting there.
I only seem to use that on the crops.
Everything that I want to buy seems to be only available with the FV cash.
That my friends is how they sucker you into putting REAL money into the game.
But I'm having fun with it.
So who cares.
Anyway.....
I saw those FV game cards the other day.
They are like gift cards.
Today I got an email from them saying where you can buy them.
So I forwarded the email to Katie, Bryan and Robert and said that would be an easy b-day gift for me.
So far Katie and Bryan said that they are not going to support my addiction.
Damn kids......
Guess I will just have to look for them myself....

Seriously? You think you are known by just your first name?

Lindsey Lohan is sueing E-Trade for one of their hilarious baby commercials for the Super Bowl. The one where the boy baby is webcam talking with his girlfriend baby and she wants to know why he didn't call her. Then she asks if that "milkaholic Lindsey" was there. And a baby girl pokes her head in the screen and says "Milka-wha???" Yeh, that ad. I had no idea that was about Lindsey Lohan. I didn't know she known by only her first name? Or that she was a milkaholic. Did you know Lindsey Lohan was a milkaholic? News to me. It's also news to me that she thinks everyone knows her by her first name only. Guess that means that everyone is always confused when you are talking about Jennifer. You know...Jennifer. I love her! Don't you! And Jessica! She is so talented. But do you know who I really don't care for? Kathy. **shiver** She gives me the creeps. Don't you agree? Oh...but I love me some Matt, Brad, John and Dave!

I was 17 of 24 for my Oscar picks!

Not too bad. I guess it will easier to say which ones I missed :-)

Documentary Feature: Winner - The Cove
Editing: Winner - The Hurt Locker
Foreign Film: Winner - The Secret In Their Eyes
Animated Short: Winner - Logorama
Live Action Short: Winner - The New Tenants
Sound Editing: Winner - The Hurt Locker
Sound Mixing: Winner - The Hurt Locker

The rest I got right.
I was all in all pleased with the show and the winners. I really didn't want Avatar to win best picture. It won the awards it should have.
I cried for Sandra Bullock. She has been a favorite of mine for years. I love her romantic comedies. I was very happy that she won. And while Gabby was really great in Precious, I have a hard time with giving Oscars to one hit wonders. Do you really feel like she has a career in movies ahead of her? I'm not so sure. I find her quite annoying other than her performance in Precious. I know...she is just an excited teenager, but that is also why I can't stand Miley Cyrus. If Gabby makes a few more movies and gives that same kind of raw intense performance, then I will most likely change my mind.
A few other thoughts regarding last night....
I love Meryl Streep.
Helen Mirren looked stunning.
Ben Stiller was kind of annoying after a while.
YAY for The Hurt Locker!
Sandra's dress was gorgeous.
So were many others....Cruz, Diaz (for once) Lopez, McAdams.
Hiliary Swank was not at the Oscars, but was at the Vanity Fair Party. I want her body.
I'm still undecided about SJParkers dress.
HATED Charlize Theron's dress. The only thing missing was a Viking helmet.
Gerard Butler and Bradley Cooper. Nuff said.
George needs a haircut and his squeeze needs a smile.
Martin and Baldwin were funny.
Mo'Nique tried too hard to maintain her cool and came across as a deserving bitch.
The woman who won for Best Costume was a deserving bitch unfortunately.
What was with that kook who pulled a Kanye???

I could keep going...
but will instead end this with a big Congrats to all of the winners!

Happy Saturday :-)

I don't want to do anything today.
I had intended on making cards today.
But I'm just not feeling it.
And I have a butt-load to do.
**deep sigh**
I seriously just took in a deep breath and sighed.
I don't want to make cards.
But I should.
ugh.....
I just want to be lazy today.
I at least put my clothes away.
I have been so good lately, but when we came back from the beach last weekend I just laid my clean clothes that I didn't wear at the end of my bed on the trunk. Woo Hoo! That was a run on sentence! And I'm not gonna change it! OK...I changed it. I took out about 3 words that were repeats.
Because you know how goodly my grammar be!
As the week went on, I would take off my work clothes and then pile them on top of the others on the trunk. It was pretty high.
So I put those away.
And now I am washing clothes.
Bleck.
That means I will have to put away more clothes.
Double bleck.
Fine.....
I will go get out my card stuff.
It feels like work though.
Usually its fun.
Today it feels like work.
But I'll do it.
Whatever.....
If you happen to stop by today...
I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!
** updated - I got all nine cards done! **

T*G*I*to the freaking*F!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I just say how freaking happy I am that it is Friday? Can I???
I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY THAT IT IS FRIDAY!
I have been so busy.
I know that's a good thing.
It makes my days go by faster.
But....
I have noticed that I am getting grumpy.
I used to get this way when I worked full time before.
It's because I'm tired.
Yes...
I stay up late.
Yes....
I eat poorly.
Yes....
I am not exercising.
Yes....
My back is freaking tight.
Another reason why I don't like to work full time.
(Karen if you are reading this...ignore ignore!!!!)
See....I'm a Grump-Butt.
I'm OK with this. I'm just tired and venting. It's only for one more month, and I actually volunteered to do this, so I really can't complain. And I'm loving the extra money.
I'm just tired.
And....
grumpy.

My Review.....

So....
I went to see Avatar last night.
Finally.
And just what did I think of it????
Meh.
It was OK....but certainly not the best movie of the year.
I thought parts of it were really amazing. I think the way it was made was so much fun. I really enjoyed that aspect of it. But the dialog.....freaking cheese. Horrible actually. I mean come on James Cameron...really? That was all the better you could do with a script? It was fun though because it was like being on a big Disney ride or the ET ride at Universal, but without all the bumping and bouncing around. I kept wanting to look down at the back of my hand to see if the days re-entry stamp was Dopey or Tigger. OOOO....What if it had been Pooh???? Actually...seeing pooh on the back of my hand in the theater might not have been that enjoyable. Some of the "scenery" was right out of the ET ride. And the glow in the dark body paint???? Yeh....don't know what to think about that. And at one point I swear I heard Mel Gibson yell..."They may take our lands! But they will never take...OUR....FREEDOM!!!" And when Sully held up the book about Pandora, I thought..."Put that in your book!" Although I'm pretty sure no one farted in that scene.
OK....I know I'm being a little mean to poor Mr Cameron, but I think he missed the mark with this one. It had the potential to be so much more. It could have been so much more "fantastical" without looking so cheap. Not all of it mind you.....but more than it should have.

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Tired.....

Was super busy at work today. Yay!
And then afterwards I went to see Avatar.
Will give my review tomorrow.
But for now...
Sweet Dreams.....

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Well....Now I just don't feel like it....

I was going to try to get in a bunch of movies before the Oscars on Sunday. The ones that have been nominated for awards. But now I just don't feel like doing as many as I was going to. OK...I'm only skipping one. Tonight I am going to go see The Young Victoria. It's not up for any major category awards, such as Best Movie of any of the acting ones, but it is up for 3 awards....Art Direction, Costume and Makeup. I was going to go and see Up in the Air after that, but now I don't feel like it. I will wait until that one is on cable. Tomorrow I will go and see Avatar. I have to see that one in the theater in 3D. And then Friday night I am going to watch The Hurt Locker onDemand. The rest of the other movies where major people are nominated are not even playing here. Oh well. I don't think they will win, so not a big deal. Will just have to catch those on cable too.
So I will let you know how The Young Victoria is. I love period films!

Monday, March 1, 2010

oiy....Monday's are gonna be busy....

Which is actually a good thing. Monday's fly by so fast now. With the addition of some extra stuff to do, and the fact that the paper changed the way I turn in Open House ads, I pretty much stay busy all day. I like it! But unfortunately, I end up neglecting the blog. I will have to start preparing one on Sunday nights. I don't really like to do that though, because I like to just ramble on about whatever comes to mind. This blog has ended up being so much more like a journal. Which is fine with me, but I'm sure "boring" for anyone who stops by to read it. So I will try to do better with Monday's by preparing the night before.
We had a great time this weekend camping. We went to Nahalem State Park. It's just south of Manzanita, OR. Or Canon Beach. Or Seaside. What ever your preference is for Oregon Coast beach towns! There are only a couple shops in Manzanita, but one of our favorites is a Free Trade or Fair Trade shop. It's such a fun place to check out. I bought a hippo carved out of soap stone. It was made in Kenya. The men of the tribe carve the animals and the women paint them. At least that is what the shop keeper told us! I believe her because I want to believe that my cute blue hippo was made in Kenya! I don't have it with me, so when I get home I will take a picture and upload it. I bought it because I couldn't put it down. Do you do that? See something that catches your eye and you just can't seem to let it go? I have absolutely no need for a carved blue hippo, but hey....it was only $6.95!
And cute!
