Can Spring Get Here Already???

I'm done with Winter. I'm so cold. I loved that we had all of that snow this year, but I'm ready for warm weather. I know we have not had nearly as cold of temperatures as the rest of the Nation, but for here....it's dang cold. Oddly, it seems like we have not had much rain either. It's another beautiful sunny day, but so cold. brrrrrrr....
Hubby is thinking about us taking a trip to Washington DC. I would love that. I have never been, and he has not been since he was a child. With Obama being President now, I have this renewed sense of Patriotism. I want to see the White House, and the Capital Building, all of the monuments. I have wanted to spend days at the Smithsonian for a really long time, but now I want to see our more National buildings and monuments too. It's amazing how this one man has made such a difference in my life in regards to hope for our Nation. How exciting would it be to be at the White House and have President Obama walk by and say Hi to everyone! OK...that sounds kinda corny....but I would looooove to meet him!

Good Afternoon Barbara and Ladies,

Oh Barbara I would LOVE to go to Washington DC also. I was watching the Disney Channel with my son and it looks very interesting and I just said to him on Saturday dosen't that look like a fun trip to take??? He said yeah Mom when can we go??? I said who knows LOL. I am going thru my list for my sons First Communion Party and making some cuts off the list it really bothers me, but budget wise I can't afford what I had for Anthony and Vincent. I feel very guilty. They had 80-100 people at theirs I'm cutting to 50 people, its really hard to do so. I want to have it in a restaurant, but I'm pricing it out both ways in the house or a restaurant. Anthony's we had at my in-laws house outside in May, we were lucky it was a beautiful day. Vincent's we had in a hall and brought in food from a caterer, we did not save a dime having it at my in-laws by the time we rented a tent, tables, chairs, CLEANUP, which we didn't have to do at the hall. So I'm opting for a restaurant banquet room something small. Oh and it rained CATS & DOGS on Vincents party, good thing it was inside. LOL Anthony is making his confirmation in March on a Saturday, thats just a restaurant with 10 of us, Then Victor is making is Communion on May 2 at 4:00 pm Mass and I want to go right after to the restaurant. I hope I can make it happen.

I am also looking forward to Spring, but I enjoy February ALOT with Valentines Day, and the kids get a week off for mid-winter break. I'm looking forward to 40* haven't seen that in a while.

Have a good day, I'm off to shower and get my face on to teach 2nd grade catechisum. Don't wanna scare the kiddos LOL.

You MUST let me know when you are planning your trip to DC! I used to live there and sometimes I miss it so much. I would love to help you all with your planning if you need help or have questions.

One of the coolest tours in DC is the FBI building... and an added benefit is that it is close to the Hard Rock Cafe!

I would also HIGHLY suggest a day trip to Annapolis (to see the Naval Academy~ Can you say Officer and a Gentleman?) And another day trip to Baltimore's Inner Harbor, especially to Phillips for crabcakes and strawberry Daquiri's. OMG, I am so homesick you might have to pack me in our suitcase!!

I agree with you about the newly found feeling of patiotism. I used to go to sporting events and when the Nat'l Anthem was sung I would stand there and wonder how my country could have gone so wrong so quickly. Now I feel myself well up with pride and hope for our future. The land of the free and the brave...

which reminds me, that while you are in Baltimore you MUST go to Fort McHenry and see where Francis Scott Key wrote the words to the Star Spangled Banner. And bring your tissues!!

Hi Ladies.
Sorry I did not come back earlier today, but I was busy at work.
RE....WOW. I have never heard of anyone throwing such a great party for first communion. Anything you do will be wonderful.

G....You have made me even more excited about going to DC. I have no idea of when he wants to go, but I'm thinking it will be in the Fall. We will definitely talk way before hand!

word: mancon

sentence: You can find a redneck south of the mancon-dixie line!

Good Morning!!!

I have to share some GOOD NEWS finally. I was going thru my emails this morning. Johns cousin Cheryl emails me pictures of her babies thru snapfish, so she just sent me the Christmas pictures, and her January Pictures. So, I get another email from her and it says Surprise, I knew it, shes PREGNANT with baby #3. She has a son Luke born June of 2007, Michael born September of 2008, and her new baby is due September of 2009. I am so happy for her and Jonathon. She is scared and she said this one was a TOTAL SHOCK. They live in Chicago, I'm so happy for them, and their two little boys are just so beautiful and happy babies, but shes only 28 years old and SKINNY so I told her she should have no problem handling the three of them.

I just had to share the Good News, I love babies.
